Charles III was born with the Sun in Scorpio, the Moon in Taurus and Leo rising. Scorpio held all day; the Moon had left Aries 50 minutes before the birth and Leo had risen 30 minutes before it, so the evening hour decides those two.
That hour comes from an announcement made at the time, a Whitehall notice in the London Gazette, and no competing time is on file, so all three signs stand. Only the Placidus houses stay open: 2 minutes less on the clock puts the Sun in the 5th house.

The exalted Moon ranks first, Mars out of bounds third
Against simulated 1940s births, the Moon's exaltation in Taurus ranks first (about one chart in 12), then Jupiter at home in Sagittarius (about one chart in 9), Mars out of bounds (about one chart in 6) and Venus at home in Libra (about one chart in 7). Fifth to eighth come eight planets under the horizon (about one chart in 6), the Moon in its sign's opening degree (about one chart in 5), Jupiter in its closing one (about one chart in 5) and a locomotive spread (about one chart in 4).
The Jupiter, Mars and Venus items hold all day; the other four hold together only from 8:24 PM, when the Moon entered Taurus, to 10:17 PM, when Pluto would cross into the 12th house.
A night chart that favors the Moon and Venus
By sect this is a night chart, as is any London birth between 4:06 PM and 7:24 AM the next day, so the Moon, Venus and Mars are in sect and Jupiter and the Sun are not. The strength table scores the Moon 100, Jupiter 96 and Venus 92, and the Moon is Lord of the Geniture. Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune ran faster than average, Pluto was three days from turning retrograde, Uranus alone was already retrograde, and Mercury, nearest the Sun, stood 15°27′ off.

The Gazette notice, and the minutes that move the fourth house
A Whitehall notice dated November 15, 1948, in London Gazette Extraordinary issue 38455, page 6003, puts the birth at Buckingham Palace the previous evening at "fourteen minutes after nine o'clock"; the Royal Household's biography gives the same minute. The rating in the facts table is this databank's own reading of that notice. British Summer Time had ended on October 31, 1948, so the clock was Greenwich Mean Time (UTC+0).
Leo had been rising for 30 minutes, more than any rounding could absorb, but the houses are tighter: a birth 2 minutes earlier moves the Sun into the 5th house, one 4 minutes later drops Neptune into the 3rd house, and so the four-planet 4th house lasts about 4.9 minutes. Whole-sign houses, counted from Leo, leave the Sun in the 4th house for every minute of Leo's rise.

A grand trine with two of its three sides out of sign
Moon, Jupiter and Saturn are linked in the chart's single aspect figure, a grand trine. Its Moon–Saturn side (4°50′) stays inside earth, but Jupiter, in the last degree of Sagittarius, trines the Moon (0°32′) and Saturn (5°22′) across sign lines: purists wanting one element reject such a figure, while astrologers counting degrees accept it.

Mars past the Sun's limit, Jupiter and Uranus in final degrees
Mars, 20°56′ Sagittarius, lies 24°03′ south in declination, 0°37′ past the Sun's limit, which declination writers such as Kt Boehrer read as working outside the usual rules. Uranus is out of bounds to the north. The Moon at 0°25′ Taurus sits in its sign's opening degree, while Jupiter at 29°53′ Sagittarius and Uranus at 29°55′ Gemini share a final degree, which some modern astrologers call anaretic.

Jupiter and Uranus 0°02′ from an exact opposition
That applying opposition is the closest contact, and both its signs, Sagittarius and Gemini, are intercepted in the Placidus houses. Venus sextile Pluto follows at 0°10′. The Sun, chart ruler as lord of Leo in the traditional and modern schemes alike, squares Pluto in the 1st house, and the Moon trines Jupiter and sextiles Uranus within 0°32′.

Capricorn through Aries left empty
The planets run from the Moon in early Taurus to Jupiter at the end of Sagittarius and leave 120°32′ empty, Capricorn through Aries: a locomotive in Marc Edmund Jones's terms. Only the Moon and Uranus are above the horizon. Counting the angles, fire and the fixed signs lead with five points each.

Nehru, a November 14 birthday too, has the nearest chart
Jawaharlal Nehru, also born on November 14, has the closest chart (Sun in Scorpio, Leo rising and Sun within 1° of each other), ahead of Frida Kahlo (Moon in Taurus and Leo rising), Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex (Moon in Taurus and Venus within 2° of each other) and Leonardo DiCaprio (Sun in Scorpio).
Tula Sun, Mesha Moon and a Karka lagna in the Lahiri zodiac
Without Lahiri's ayanamsa of 23°08′, each main placement slips back a sign: Sun 29°16′ Libra (Tula), Moon 7°17′ Aries (Mesha), lagna 12°15′ Cancer (Karka). The Moon was in Mesha from 7:04 AM, so it is not exalted at any evening hour. Jupiter keeps its sign, Mars moves to Scorpio, its own in Jyotish, and Venus to Virgo, its debilitation.

Questions about Charles III's chart
What is Charles III's zodiac sign?
Scorpio, at 22°25′. The Sun held that sign through every hour of November 14, 1948, so no birth time could make it anything else.
What is Charles III's Moon sign?
Taurus, a sign it had entered from Aries at 8:24 PM, 50 minutes before the announced 9:14 PM; an Aries Moon would need an earlier birth than any source gives.
What is Charles III's rising sign?
Leo, which held the London horizon from 8:43 PM to 11:33 PM. Cancer rising would need a birth 31 minutes before the notice's minute.
What ranks first in Charles III's birth chart?
The Moon exalted in Taurus, found in about one chart in 12 of 1940s births; it also tops the strength table at 100, angular in the 10th house.
Does Charles III have a day or night birth chart?
Night. The Sun had gone down 5 hours 1 minute before the birth, which gives the Moon the lead by sect.
How the positions, time windows and rates were found
Positions were cast for 21:14 UTC on November 14, 1948 at 51°30′ N, 0°08′ W with precise astronomical calculations. Hour windows mean recasting the chart across the London day; rates mean a Monte Carlo sample of 1940s births.
