Astrocartography Lines, Explained

Every planet draws four lines across the world. Each one turns up a different part of your life β€” love, career, home, luck, transformation β€” depending on where you stand. Here is what each of the ten planetary lines means.

What is astrocartography?

Astrocartography projects your birth chart onto a world map, showing where each planet was angular β€” rising, setting, culminating, or at its lowest point β€” at the exact moment you were born. Those geographic paths are your planetary lines. Developed by Jim Lewis in 1978, the technique answers the oldest question in astrology: not when, but where.

Stand near one of your lines and that planet's energy runs stronger in your daily life. A Jupiter line brings opportunity; a Venus line brings love; a Saturn line brings discipline and weight. The angle the line represents decides how: career and reputation on the Midheaven, home and roots on the IC, identity on the Ascendant, relationships on the Descendant.
